With dreams of one day pursuing a career in medicine, I started my journey by receiving a combined bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, chemistry and environmental sciences from the University of British Columbia. My life science studies were focused in neuroscience, with a particular interest in neurodevelopmental disorders such as attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and the impact of various drug interventions. In my chemistry studies I learned the science behind various pharmaceutical compounds and strengthened my understanding of the chemical and electrical processes that underlie brain activity. After completing my bachelor’s degree I moved back home to train as a neurofeedback technician and greater my understanding of the mind and body’s impact on the health and behavior of individuals from various backgrounds. My goal is to eventually take this knowledge with me through medical school and use it as a practitioner to better treat the whole patient by integrating both mental and physical aspects of their health into their treatment plan.

As a self diagnosed super nerd, when I am not studying you can often find me lost in a book or enjoying intellectually stimulating conversation with my friends and family.

I completed my Bachelors of Arts with a specialization in Psychology in 2016 at Wilfrid Laurier University located in Kitchener/Waterloo. While working towards my degree, I worked as a summer camp counsellor at a summer camp designed towards children diagnosed with cognitive and/or behavioural disorders, as well as children that were placed on the spectrum. This camp typically ran a total of four sessions, each session being a two-week sleepover camp, and was structured to follow all the regular activities of a traditional summer camp, but with added support and understanding for children with different neurological challenges and complexities. The goal of each session was to provide these children with a sense of independence, accomplishment, and self-fulfilment. After completing my degree, my wife and I moved to Ottawa for 3 years, before discovering Revelstoke and falling in love with the town. We officially moved here in 2019, and have loved being part of the community ever since.

I strive to create an atmosphere of warmth and belonging, and create a space in which people feel comfortable and welcome. I aim to create a unique Neurofeedback protocol for every individual client, as no two minds are the same. Through Neurofeedback training, I seek to assist clients improve self-regulating behaviours and see benefits in their day-to-day lives as I work towards my Othmer Method Certification under Jennifer’s supervision.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy hiking or taking my bike out on the trails, or just for a ride around town. In the winter I like to get out skiing whenever I get the chance, and in the summer I love kayaking through the rivers. If I am not out enjoying the outdoors, I am probably enjoying a delicious meal at one of our town’s fantastic restaurants.

I grew up in a small farming town in Ontario. I moved to BC to pursue my career in education in 2004 and have been here in Revelstoke for 9 years, where I am now a Registered Clinical Counsellor.

I have 20+ years of experience working as an educator and school counsellor, in therapeutic programs, including youth residential treatment programs, addiction centers, and educational institutions. I am also a certified Restorative Justice and SMART Recovery Facilitator. These diverse positions have left me with a strong client-centred orientation, where I strive to meet humans where they’re at.

I am aligned with the Muskrat métis people of the Great Lakes region and am mindful of cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic concerns as they apply to health and education systems. I believe therapy is a courageous and collaborative journey that involves building safe, trusting, and compassionate healing relationships. My approach to therapy is rooted in experiential, mindful, narrative, and trauma-informed cognitive-behavioural techniques. I strive to hold safe spaces for clients’ stories and provide gender-affirming, trauma-informed, equity-centred, and culturally responsive care.

I have an Accredited Facility Dog from PADS, named Pyxis who works alongside me to provide good-dog love. When I am not teaching or studying, you can find me spending time with my family soaking in the beauty of Revelstoke, drinking coffee, or getting tattoos.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds” - Paul the Apostle

I grew up in Quebec, where I obtained a diploma in Arts/Communications. After completing a Bachelor in Outdoor Adventure Tourism in 2008, I moved to Revelstoke, and I’ve been here ever since! I completed a Masters of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and I am registered with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I have also completed EMDR basic training to add to the modalities that I already work with.

I’m inspired by connections with people and believe that every person holds within themselves their infinite potential. I view life as a journey of a thousand experiences—shaped by our perception. I strive to work with clients’ uniqueness, providing a tailored approach where they feel empowered toward reaching their goals.

I provide a non-judgmental space, filled with empathy and unconditional positive regard. Depending on the client’s needs, their personality and interests, I implement various treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Somatic/Body awareness techniques and Hypnosis.

I also work with couples to develop secure-functioning relationships. I use experiential methods from evidenced-based modalities, rooted in neuroscience, attachment theory and the biology of human arousal.

I believe nurturing our mental health is an incredible gift we can give to ourselves.

I am a registered Clinical Mental Health Counsellor and a member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I began my career working in crisis counselling as well as working with individuals, couples, and families in a private counselling practice.

My treatment philosophy is rooted in Existential psychology and Humanistic psychology with and emphasis on evidence based treatments. Viktor Frankl, an Austrian neuroscientist and psychiatrist shared, ”For the meaning of life differs from man to man, from day to day and from hour to hour. What matters, therefore, is not the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person’s life at a given moment.” I work collaboratively with each client to develop a treatment plan that is unique to the goals they want to accomplish. Each person and their life experience are unique and therefore require individualized treatment modalities.

When I am not in the office I can be found enjoying the mountains with my husband and our four children, writing literary fiction, traveling internationally to advance my education in the fields of counselling psychology and cognitive science, advocating for our local youth and… napping.
